Hi everyone - thanks so much for all your good wishes for Fran - rest assured they have been passed on - he was thrilled to bits that he is remembered so fondly.

Here is the second instalment of Windsor pics - more to come when I can work out how to get them on my computer!

Sorry to hear you were disappointed with the gallery Falkor. They were all photographs taken during our time living at the Park. Most feature our son, Jamie, with animals we reared - not the womble!!

We reared a litter of 3 abandoned cheetah cubs, Wayne and Sue reared a litter of 5 not very long afterwards as I remember. Poppy, the one in the photographs, developed cataracts quite early on. I remember reading the Sun one day and it had a photo of a dog wearing a pair of specs. This little pooch had also had cataracts and they had been operated on successfully. Through the paper, I managed to track down the vet who had performed the op, he was based at the small animal centre in Cambridge. He agreed to operate on Poppy free of charge so Fran took him up there and the op was successful, giving him much more vision than he had previously had. I remember Fran bringing him home in the evening and we sat up with him in our lounge overnight. He was such a lovely animal and we still treasure a fab drawing of him that Andy Kench gave us.

The pic with Laurence Olivier and Michael Caine was taken when they filmed for "The Jigsaw Man" and exploded a car in the baboon reserve. I think Susan George was in the film too. It was so interesting for us all to watch the set up.

Most of the photographs were taken by John Drysdale who specialised in animal photography. There's a lovely book of his pics called "Our Peaceable Kingdom". Others were taken by Nick Skinner who worked for the Daily Mail.

We are all currently going through our old photographs and when we have the time, we are scanning them and putting them on our family gallery. So there will be more from time to time but it's a bit of pot luck really what ends up there - if they were taken at WSP they will be on it. I just thought others who worked there might like to see them, they were such happy times.

Hi Trixie, No need to apologies. Falkor was at the park much later than us, and in his day the keepers did not hand rear the animals as we did. I think thats why he did not register with him? Us oldens love the pics. please do post more. Kind regards and love to all your family and Frank, we all love that special lady that is you. So be happy, its important!!! Tez and the gang.

Hi Trixie

Great photos, just great to see them. I so remember that Michael Caine used to come to the park with wife Shakira. Also Elton John and the comedian,,, damn, his name escapes me. Think he ate a hamster at some point though - anyone assist here?

I reiterate Terry's sentiments and please do keep your photos coming, no matter what comments they evoke!

Best

Charles

PS Sas, you sound as exceptional as ever! I have to be in the UK probably near the beginning of 2009 - fancy a beer? The Squirrel sounds favourite.
