Picture of the park 1991

Post by TerrorTech » Sun May 14, 2006 2:54 pm

I'm glad I have found a site devoted to the gone but bot forgotten Windsor safari Park.

I finaly got around to uploading some pictures from the park which I think were taken in 1991.

They can been viewed on my webshots page here:
http://community.webshots.com/user/terrortech

I remember my wife and I went mid-week on a really nice day and the park was very quite, with very few people about.

I was astonished by the detail of the themeing - hence I took the pictures.
If think I have some more I can scan, if you would like to see them?

If you look carefully at the picture of the elephants you can see the Kilimanjaro bobsled track in the background

Enjoy the memories

Falkor - No problem you can use the pictures for this website.

Yes I do have a few more pictures, I think I have some more of the entrance area and the African Queen boat ride. I will upload them later in the week.

I think I also have the park map somewhere, would you be interested in a scan of this?

WOW. Is all I can say. My mates and I went to the park for the final times around this point, for my (I THINK) 15th Birthday!

I remember vividly the Bizaar. I had, however forgotten the Elephant entrance and the African River Ride - these photos have totally jogged my memory; I had forgotten how awesome the crashed plane in there was!

Also, quick question - I have a couple of photos of me with my little sister and something that resembles a car ride, I remember it was near the entrance to the African Boat Ride - what was it called?

Terrortech, many, many thanks for posting the pics - they truly have made my day seeing them!

Frisco - The ride was called quite simply Safari Jeep Ride (I think it be seen in the picture featuring the boat ride entrance)

:1 NEW TERROR TECH PAGE STARTING ON MAIN SITE :2

https://www.windsorsafaripark.org.uk/Ar ... s/wd20.jpg :18

A lot of the photos linked above (in this topic) will be featured in the new page but I need TEXT to go alongside the piccies

thank you once more to Terror for submitting these fine photos to the site

they have superb resolution and are a great find - I for one have enormously enjoyed them

now to make it even better - please choose 1 of the photos and write 1 or 2 paragraphs that would go with it .... either email me or PM me with the wording

obviously Terror's wording will be used on the page predominantly but I am sure he will be happy to have other members contributions as well if interesting facts/ stories/ anecdotes/ fiction/ rumours can be submitted

anybody assist on this?

Terror? what do you think?

yeah unfortunately (12 months ago) I had a slight rift with the old hosts

we had a disagreement :5

this has meant that the old windsor safari park site has in reality gone

we are now trading off another website - so that's why, sadly, many links are now bust :(
