Re: G'day! Charles (late 70s) Baboons here

Hi Trixie Great photos, just great to see them. I so remember that Michael Caine used to come to the park with wife Shakira. Also Elton John and the comedian,,, damn, his name escapes me. Think he ate a hamster at some point though - anyone assist here? I reiterate Terry's sentiments and please do ...

Re: G'day! Charles (late 70s) Baboons here

I remember the jumped up prick (G) used to make us go back up to the flats after signing on to inspect our accommodation, as if it were a military barracks! I personally could never figure out how he could miss the fact that the Moroccans would squat on top of the khazi to take a dump and leave it w...

Re: G'day! Charles (late 70s) Baboons here

Sas-man I've got a real bad feeling I remember that fireworks do....... what month did you leave the park? Did I know you when you were working there or did you come back to the bars some nights to haunt us? I started in Jan (7th) 1977. But Christ do I remember spraying the purple spray (Terymycin?)...

Re: Ride em Rhino

The Dutch - when first seeing both White and Black Rhinos - called the former wide-mouthed to differentiate between the two. Unfortunately, when the English arrived on the scene they overheard the term wide-mouthed being used and - being English - misunderstood the Dutch. They only heard the first ...

Charles, you are the best! I love the way you are trying to keep the "Royal Windsor Safari Park" name going despite this forum's desire to call it 'WSP" etc etc......
Jes*s Chr**st folks, we were "Royal Windsor Safari ParK"..... please remember that!

Tez, have you seen the photo on the Elephant page I posted a few days ago...... some of us escorting Hazel back to the Elephant House after she went walkabout? Great shot of the mansion in the background.

Re: Ride em Rhino

Well it was a good paddock yes, but not necessarily suited to White Rhinos! They barely used the lower part as they then had to lumber all the way back up the hill!! I worked with them for a while..... never went in with them on a regular basis (as with the Elephants, Giraffes, Zebra etc) as they ar...
